Traveler Bio

Herzlichen Grüßen! Greetings! My name is Allyson Gardner, and I will be living and working in Germany for the next year as a foreign language assistant in Ahlbeck, Germany. Growing up in a military family, I had the opportunity to live in many places across Europe and the United States before my family retired to Berlin Heights, Ohio. I knew early on that I wanted to return to Europe, leading me to study German and English at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. While there, I was able to develop my language skills, learn new hobbies, and study abroad in Lutherstadt Wittenberg.

In my final year, I applied for an English Teaching Assistant position through the federal Fulbright Grant, which has placed me on an island called Usedom in Germany's north-eastern corner on the Polish border. So far, I have enjoyed getting to know the island and the surrounding area, as well as introducing myself to my new colleagues and students. I am also starting to plan more trips around Germany and Europe, and am excited to start travelling. I look forward to sharing these opportunities, stories, and lessons with you. Bis Bald! See you soon!
