A Look into the Life of My Host: Anna

Introduction:

Anna started recieving students in the USAC abroad program around ten years ago. She originally started hosting for only one month of the year at a time throughout the summers, but after her husband passed away, she started to offer herself for the entirety of the year. She only accepts students that are girls, out of comfort for both parties, but they can be from anywhere in the U.S. and typically are between 18 and 22 years old-- although she has hosted 16 year olds during summer terms in the past. Anna continues to do this because she enjoys the company, learning and sharing cultural diffences and cooking and caring for the students who come to live with her.

What is your full name?:

My host's full name is Anna Zarroso.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

Anna was born in Valencia, Spain in 1958 and has lived here ever since. She lives in an apartment near the center, which is very easy to get to, and she uses the metro, since the nearest station is only a block away. Her place has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen space and a small balcony in which every room has a window that looks on to the street. There is a grocery store very close to her apartment as well, so it is easy to buy produce and other items for meals during the week.
