Anahy's Life in Korea

The chores that I have to do are: sweep and mop the floor; clean the bathroom and fridge; make my bed every morning; wash and fold my laundry; water my plant; and disinfect my room every week to get rid of bacteria and viruses.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My mom is a stay-at-home mom, so she has many jobs to do throughout the day, such as being a chef, teacher, housekeeper and personal driver, among her many other jobs. Even though she does not get paid to do the many things she does throughout the day, she is the one who makes sure that we are fed, and cared for.

My father is a construction worker, so he is responsible for many tasks, such as helping unload materials, operating heavy equipment, reading construction plans, using math, and measurements in order to use the correct amount of material. Fun fact: the company my dad works for helped construct Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags over Georgia!

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

My school schedule is very different from the K-12 class schedule that you are used to.

On Mondays, I have only one class, which is an online lecture. My class is from 2:00- 3:15 pm.

From Tuesday through Thursday, I have only one in-person class from 3:30-6:15.

On Friday, I have one in-person class from 12:30-1:45.

I do not have a set time that I have to be back at my dorm room. It all depends on what day it is and whether or not I have to stay a little longer to study or to complete a particular assignment.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

As I live on my school's campus, I am able to walk to my classes.
