Anahy's Life in Korea

I am allowed to walk around school by myself, but I usually like to walk to classes with my friends.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I eat lunch at restaurants that are close to my school. There is a plaza called Boxsquare where they sell cheap street food. I also go to coffee shops to grab lunch and coffee. So far, my favorite food to eat during lunch is rice with beef ribs.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I usually speak English in my classes. I take one Korean class, so we are learning how to speak Korean. The way you say hello in Korean is 안녕하세요 (an-nyeong-ha-se-yo).

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

In Korea, it is more common to refer to people by their family name (last name) and then their given name (first name).

Common Last names in my school, here, are Kim (김), Park (박), Lee (이), Choi (최), Chung (정)

Common First names in my school are Ha-yoon (하윤), Seo-yoon (서윤), and Ji-woo (지우).

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

The subjects that I study at my school are philosophy (the study of basic questions about human life), sociology (study of social life, social change, and consequences of human behavior), Korean (the language that is spoken in Korea) and social welfare policy (the study of the history and policies of social services-- this class teaches me about the ways in which we can best help people that need support in order to better their lives).
