I find it quite fascianting how public infastructure primarily includes indoor or underground spaces to accommodate for the cold weather. In California, a majority of shopping malls and community centers were outdoors.
I always have to remeber that when I ask a Canadian how far away a destination is, their response is likely in kilometers instead of miles. One kilometer is approximaltey 0.62 miles.
