French is the main language spoken in Paris. With the help of my French-speaking friend, I was able to learn some basic communication skills in this language. In fact, by the end of this trip I was able to go into bakeries alone and order food in French!
The euro is the money used in France.
While Paris tends to be more expensive than the city of Limerick, water was still about one or two euros in grocery stores.
I tried so many amazing foods while in Paris. My first night, I enjoyed authentic French crepes with sausage, emmental cheese, and egg. I also tried macarons for the first time! They came in flavors like chocolate, Madagascar vanilla, rose, pistachio, and even balsamic vinegar, mushroom and caviar. But my favorite meal of the whole trip was a picnic consisting of baguettes (French bread), cheese and saucisson (dried meat). It was delicious!
Paris is home to many musicians who play on the streets and on the trains. I heard the accordian, violins and Spanish guitar all in the course of one day.
