I was very happy to come across this cosmos plant. Unlike the other trees and plants in the area that were losing leaves or dying back due to the season, this one was still holding on. It looked so full of life compared to everything else!
This cosmos plant lives on the ground surrounded by tiny rocks. Cosmos flowers survive in hot and dry conditions. They are mostly grown in home gardens, but sometimes they are mistaken as weeds because they can grow so easily.
Here at the temple, this plant receives its nutrients from the sun and water from the monks or the rain. It is considered a low maintenance plant, which means it doesn't require a lot of watering or change of soil.
There are not many outside factors that can harm this plant. However, as the season changes, this plant will most likely lose its color and bloom again in the spring. Cosmos cannot survive in cold snowy weather, so summer is the best time for them to grow.
