Transportation in Europe is very convenient. Going to a different country is sometimes just a train or bus ride away. Public transportation is widely used and relatively inexpensive. For this article, I will be focusing on the Netherlands, which has so many different ways of getting around, the most popular being biking!
People in the Netherlands get around by car, tram, bus, train, walking and biking. Cars are used for long drives, and a lot of people will rent a car for a day or a few hours to get to places that are a further away. People also often use trains to do the same things, and many people take a train to work every day. For people who have to work in neighboring cities, they may have the option to take the tram. But the most popular way to get around a city like Amsterdam is by bike! Bikes are everywhere and commonly used to run errands, go to school and work! There are bike lanes everywhere, and it is also very common to see bikes and cars sharing the road.
My first time riding a bike, I was really nervous, because cars, people and buses were on the roads as well. I was also not sure if I even remembered how to ride a bike! But it turned out I did remember, and it was really fun!
