Thankfully, scientific papers are almost always written in English, so it is a nice break after speaking and listening to Spanish all the time.
I played a game with some of my friends while celebrating my birthday back in San José. You ask a question, everyone writes down their answers, and you guess who said what. It is fun to play to get to know people and test how well you know each other!
This week has actually been very historical for Costa Rica. The government is proposing a new plan for how the country manages its money, called a fiscal plan. A lot of people are not happy with it so there are huelgas, or strikes, all over the country. Some roads are blocked off and a few of my classes have been cancelled. The strikes are not usually dangerous, but they slow down traffic, and it is best to stay away from them.
