Hi, everyone! I can’t believe it’s already time for this farewell article. Our time together has flown by. I want to begin by thanking you all for engaging in this little project with Ms. Aubuchon and me, and I hope you have enjoyed our video calls as much as I have. Hopefully, RTW days in class were moments of rest from the regular curriculum, which can get difficult sometimes. And most of all, I hope you are at least a little bit interested in exploring another country, maybe even Colombia!

During our last call, there were lots of questions and stories about some of the culture shocks I’ve experienced here in Colombia that took me some time to get used to. In this article, I want to emphasize some of the surprising things I am going to miss the most about Colombia when I return to the United States in two and a half short months.

First of all, I am going to miss the impeccable customer service. No matter where you are here, service workers--like waiters, cashiers, bankers and more--are so kind and patient. Some are more enthusiastic than others, but no matter what, they are always doing their best to be polite and helpful. During my first week here, one waiter went back to speak with the chef probably seven times just to confirm different kinds of gluten-free modifications for me.
