Hola! My name is Arden Woodall, and I’m from Noblesville, Indiana. I am 22 years old, and I graduated from Purdue University in May of 2024 with my bachelor’s degree in English Education and minors in Spanish and Creative Writing. I am a licensed teacher in the state of Indiana, where I can teach grades 5-12 English Language Arts. During my time in West Lafayette, I discovered just how much I love learning through things like studies abroad to Italy and Spain, intercultural experiences through my choir in Purdue Musical Organizations, and teaching English as a new language at McCutcheon High School. Seeing what the world has to offer outside of the U.S. and American culture inspired me to rethink what exactly I wanted to do after college.

While looking at my options, I considered teaching right away, starting graduate school to get my master’s or Ph.D., and eventually I discovered the Fulbright Program. I applied and was fortunately selected for a U.S. Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to teach English in Colombia! Through this grant, I am placed in Bogotá, the country’s capital, where I currently live and teach university students pursuing degrees in Bilingual Education. From trying new foods like bandeja paisa to exploring new music like reggaeton and salsa, I am so grateful for the new experiences I’m having in Colombia and can’t wait to share them with you!
