What does it feel like to be somewhere new? You have to meet new people and make new friends. You have to follow different rules. There are different buildings, furniture and foods. Austria is somewhere new for me. What have you done that is something new and different? What things are different at Mulberry School in Junior Kindergarten that are different from at home?
When you go somewhere new it is important to make it feel a little bit like home. How do you make Mulberry School feel a little bit like home? Do you bring your stuffed animal or lovie to school? Do you pack your favorite food for lunch? Do you wear your favorite shirt or dress? In this journal I will tell you how I make Austria feel a little bit more like home, just like you do when you go somewhere new!
In Austria I live in my own apartment all by myself. It can feel lonely, but I filled my apartment with things from home that make me feel happy. Near my bed I have a picture of me with my best friend Gabriel in a pretty picture frame. I also have art that my friends Charlotte and Emily made for me, a postcard from my friends Peter and Ms. Debi and a silk scarf that my friend Terry gave me. These things remind me of my friends who I love.
In my reading nook I have lots of things that make me feel content. One thing is incense.
