Vietnamese is the official language in Vietnam and is widely spoken where I live in the country.

What type of money is used here?:

The Vietnamese Dong (VND) is the offical currency of Vietnam. $1.00 USD is equal to around 23,000 VND.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A  bottle of water cost around 8,000 to 10,000 Dong which is equal to $0.34 to $0.42 in U.S. Dollars.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal I have had this week included Vietnamese spring rolls, boiled pork, kimbap (Korea sushi), rice noodles and some tasty greens! I also had a few cups of refreshing strawberry tea.

What music did I listen to this week?:

I listened to some Kpop music with my class. Do you know Kpop? We listened to BLACKPINK's "Kill This Love" in class because I wanted to know what kind of music my students listened to. I have also listened to a lot of kids songs from Pink Fong and Chu Chu TV such as "Wheels on the Bus" and "Walking Walking."

What activity was the most fun this week?:

The most fun activity this week was getting Vietnamese style coffee at a local cafe with my host family. We went right after dinner and I enjoyed the sweet summer air as we strolled through town.
