Introduction:

Ha Giang (Hah Zang) is Vietnam's most northern province and shares its northern border with southern China. The province is mainly rocky mountains and valleys with farming plots speckled across the landscape. Ha Giang is home to less than a million people, but over 22 different ethnic groups which make the province very rich in diverse practices and customs. Ha Giang is home to dozens of different plants and animals which include a shrinking population of tigers.

What makes this environment special or different?:

The mountains in Ha Giang are unique because of how high and far the mountain chains spread across the province. Every town, building and home is between, within, or along a mountain chain. Some mountains are so tall you drive through clouds! Some locals call this "Heaven's View".
