My favorite piece was a large acrylic and oil painting called フレアー (Flare) by the artist Fujii Akie. In the piece, bright blues, reds and yellows fill the canvas in repetitive spirals. As the title of the piece describes, the colors appear to flare across the night sky background, like playful fire dancing in the breeze. Since it was an abstract piece, it didn't showcase a recognizable image. However, it did plenty in evoking emotion. It made me feel excited and happy! If I could take that piece home, I would!
