Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Paris! Paris is a four hour speed-train ride from my city. It is amazing that I can get there that fast, because it is actually six hours away by car! When I arrived in Paris, I quickly realized why it is one of the most visited places in the world. Between the charming people, breathtaking architecture, delicious food, and spectacular art, it is a magical place.
Have you ever wondered what the Eiffel Tower looks like in person? I was shocked to find it is actually a reddish-brown color rather than black! Yes, it is very tall, 984 feet to be exact. Actually, it is the tallest structure in all of Paris. The French did not want any building in comparison so that it can remain an attraction and maintain the harmony of the city. Something that a lot of people don't know is that you can go to the very top of the tower and look out over the city of Paris. It is a beautiful view of the city, as well as the famous Seine River.
Can you remember any famous paintings or art peices that are in the museums of Paris? Maybe you know the Mona Lisa, which was painted by Leonardo da Vinci. My very favorite of all the paintings I saw in Paris was the series of "Water Lilies" by the French artist, Claude Monet.
