Young-Adult Life in Argentina

Introduction:

I will be interviewing mi amigo (my friend), Teresa, a 24-year-old Argentine woman living in Buenos Aires (I used a pseudonym for privacy), and she was able to tell me a little about her daily routine here. To help me practice my Spanish, the verbal part of this interview was in Spanish, and I have translated her answers into English for you.

What is your full name?:

My name is Teresa Rosetti. I was named after my grandmother, whose parents moved here from Italy when she was very young.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I live in an apartment with my parents here in Palermo (a popular neighborhood in the capital city of Buenos Aires). My house is pretty big, with three bedrooms, one for me, my sister and my parents. We have a big living room/dining room where we all meet pretty much every night.

What is your family like?:

I am the eldest in my family, and I have a younger sister (17 years old). It is very common for children to live with their parents until they are older. My parents are in their late 50s, but they are very into pop culture and are very progressive. We all like to watch movies and eat together. My mom is the best cook, so she cooks for us every day. My sister loves to read, so we go to the library once a week to get a new book.
