Nature News

Back when Americans came to Chile, there weren't many animals to hunt, so people brought quails to make things more interesting. Ever since then, quails have made their residence in the rural parts of Chile.

I also saw seals at the beach in Valparaíso (sadly, I couldn't get pictures), which was cool to see while enjoying the water! There are many places in Valparaíso to go watch the seals on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, definitely look that up and visit, if you ever get the chance!

What was the coolest thing I saw in nature this week?:

THE BEACH! I could go on and on about the beach in Valparaíso, but I only have so much space in this article... As a Californian, I am used to the Pacific Ocean (the best ocean in America), but I have to admit the water at the beach there was absolutely stunning. The water was so clear. I could actually see my legs and feet while swimming (which is not very common at the beaches I frequent near Los Angeles). The sand looked like glitter in the water, giving it a nice shimmer. It felt like I was in a Disney movie or something! You may think I am exaggerating, but I hope the pictures I have attached to this article can do it the justice it deserves. Otherwise, you'll have to see it for yourself someday!

Other Nature News from this week:

On our way to Santiago from Buenos Aires, my friend, Edgar, and I got to see the Andes mountains, (which run from Venezuela to Chile). It is seen as the border between Argentina and Chile. Seeing the Andes from an aerial view was a bucket-list item for me!
