My experience of food abroad has been very different from that of food at home/in America. This is in terms of taste as well as in other ways that one might not initially think could be different.
I've tried Korean traditional dishes such a gimbap, tteokbokki, chobap and army stew, as well as a variety of other Korean convience store and street-food items. There are also foods from other cultures, here, such as Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and Mexican. This makes me curious to see the Korean take on these foods!
I've also tried a few fast food places/chain restaurants that we have in the U.S.A. such as KFC and McDonald's. These restaurants have different menu items than the ones in the United States, making these Korean branches all just as delicious and interesting, if not even more so than their American counterparts. Ones that I haven't tried yet that I plan on are Taco Bell, Starbucks and Subway. There is also a Korean fast food chain called Lotteria, that sells burgers, fries, and fried chicken.
