This week I traveled as far as Hongdae, which is 15 km (9 miles) from where I am living. This does not seem far at all--I travel more miles than that in my hometown just to get to a store, but a reminder that here in Korea lots of things are walkable so you do not have to travel far often, unless you need or want to go to a specific destination.
Apart from the intiial 7000 flight from the U.S.A. to Korea, I haven't traveled further than 9 miles, but I do hope to explore other parts of Korea such as Busan, Daegu and Jeju Island, which are significantly further away from me, at about 140-200 miles away. These are explorations that I will have to make when I have a break from school.
This week I got around only with the subway and by walking. I prefer walking if my destination's not too far, rather than taking a bus or taxi.
The most interesting place I visited this week was Ttukseom park. I'd been there before, but this time I got to explore more of the park, see the cherry blossoms blooming and the sheer amount of people there was insane. The han river is also always a nice sight.
