Number of rainy days this week: 6

How was the weather this week?:

Hot and wet! Ghana is on the equator which is the middle of the Earth, so it does not have fall/winter/spring/summer like at home. The only seasons Ghana has are dry (November - April) and wet (May - October). We’re currently in the wet seasoning, so it rains all the time. We’re at the end of the wet season, so the rain is still steady, but it’s starting to feel hot and soggy.

What animals did I see this week? :

My village has a lot of cows, chickens, sheep and a lot of small birds. They roam freely, which means they don’t stay in pens. It’s fun and busy to watch them wander around on their own!

What was the coolest thing I saw in nature this week?:

I saw a baby goat being born! It happened really fast as I was walking around my village. It was amazing to watch new life come into the world.

Other Nature News from this week:

No-see-ums (the invisible bugs that bite you and leave itchy red bites, often found near the beaches and home gardens in the US) are also in Ghana because they pollinate the cocoa trees.
