This week, I traveled a lot because of how long the bus ride was. Not only that, but I had to take a lot of buses to get to the beach. I traveled three to five hours to get to the beach.
So far, I have traveled a lot. I cannot say how much, but I have been very south in Japan and all the way to the north. Going to Itoshima was the most isolated spot I have been, though.
To get around, we had to use buses, which is something I rarely do in Japan because trains take you basically everywhere. In this case though, the shrine, Torii and the beach were so far away and isolated we had to take buses.
The most interesting part of Itoshima was visiting the Sakurai Shrine and the Futamigaura Torii. The Sakurai and Futamigaura are dedicated to the ToriiIzanagi and Izanami, which are Gods of creation. The stones behind represent a marriage. You can swim to the rocks and the Torii gate in front of them make for some cool pictures!
