Meet Kristrún and Aron

My mom waits with me at the bus stop and I take the bus to school.
Aron: School starts at 8am and ends at 3pm. I walk to school with my big sister.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

Kristrún: I like hamburgers!
Aron: Pizza with ham!

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

Kristrún: I learn English and speak Icelandic at school. One of my friends speaks Arabic, so we talk in English together. In Icelandic, I say halló (HA-lo) when I see my friends.
Aron: I speak Icelandic at school. I say (hi) to my friends.

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

Kristrún: My best friend is Manissa. I sit next to Sigurún (SI-gu-roon).
Aron: My best friend is Tristan. Some other kids in my class are Guðjón (GUTH-yon), Darri, Kolli, and Hugi.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

Kristrún: We learn to read and do math. We also learn how to swim and do gymnastics. I like swimming!
Aron: At school we do math, reading, and recess. My favorite part is útivera (OOT-i-VER-a) [an outdoor class where students explore and play]. 

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

Kristrún: I play outside on the balcony and play Minecraft. My mom also takes me outside on the stiga sleði (STI-ga SLE-thi) [a winter sled for kids].
