One of the staff members at my university has children at the local school. She asked the parents of Kristrún (KRIS-troon) and the parents of Aron, two elementary students, to meet with me and share what it's like being a kid in Ísafjörður. Let's see what they say!
Kristrún: Cocoa puffs for breakfast. I eat a banana and apple for lunch. For dinner, I like noodles.
Aron: I eat cheerios with milk for breakfast. I eat bread and goat cheese for lunch. I love pizza with ham for dinner!
Kristrún: My house has four rooms. I have a bedroom and a playroom. My house is white and gray.
Aron: My house is cozy, a little big, and a little small. It's gray with yellow windows and a green door.
Kristrún: My mom is a teacher. My dad is an electrician.
Aron: My dad is an engineer on a trawler [he fixes machines on a fishing boat]. My mom works at the Westfjords Heritage Museum [museum about the region's history and culture].
