All over Sydney, giant masses of bright purple flowers can be seen. These belong to Jacaranda mimosifolia, a tree planted throughout the city. While they are beloved by many residents for their gorgeous spring colors, I was surprised to discover that these trees aren’t actually native to Australia but originate from South America.
