I stayed within Sydney this week, but I traveled lots within the city! I live in the suburb Parramatta, but I traveled 35 km/22 miles west to Richmond to get to my university throughout the week. On the weekend, I traveled east from Parramatta to a few different spots in the city, including Bondi Beach (27 km/16 miles), Manly Beach (38 km/23 miles), and Circular Quay (19 km/11 miles).
I haven’t traveled outside of Sydney since I went camping a couple of weeks ago, so my biggest trips are still my camping trip (270 miles away) and visit to the tropics (1670 miles away).
Over the weekend, I got around with one of my favorite forms of public transport: the ferry! Because parts of Sydney are separated by water bodies like the Parramatta River, the ferry is an efficient and fun way of getting around. I took the ferry from Circular Quay on Sydney Harbour’s south shore to Manly Beach on the north shore. I also traveled from Parramatta to Circular Quay via the river ferry. Along the way, I saw mangrove forests, beachside cliffs and homes dotted along the shore.
