My first experience with travel was a trip to Disney World in Florida when I was eight years old. I went with my mom, my dad and my sister, who was six at the time. I remember the excitement of the rides, but mainly I remember the thrill of being somewhere new. I loved the idea that you could get on an airplane and in a matter of hours, be somewhere completely different with different people, different food and different weather.
Actually, I guess technically my first trip was to visit my grandparents who have a house in Colorado. We do that every year, so I do not even think of it as a trip, but in fact, my first birthday was there. So I guess that is my first trip somewhere new!
Needless to say, from a young age, I had already acquired a sense of wanderlust: the strong desire to travel. Since those first few trips with family, I have been to 33 countries and every continent besides Antarctica. It is obvious to say that I love to travel! I love meeting new people and trying new things to expand my world view. I like to learn new languages and new customs and of course, try new foods! The weirdest food that I’ve eaten is guinea pig in Peru!
I am from Pennsylvania and I went to college at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. I studied teaching and Spanish.
