This week I have traveled to the capital of Kigali, which is only 40 miles away in a straight line, but requires a two-and-a-half hour bus ride. The road must curve a lot through the many hills, and car drivers must drive very slowly to stay safe.
I have traveled to the Eastern and Western Provinces of Rwanda, as well as to the Central Province to visit Kigali, Rwanda's capital. I have also flown to Johannesburg, South Africa, for business reasons.
I was able to get around town on my bicycle. Most of the major roads in and between towns are paved. There is also a reliable bus system that I often take to go to Kigali, Rwanda's capital.
I visited the museum at the Dian Fossey International Fund. Walking in, the first thing to greet you is a giant gorilla skeleton next to a human skeleton. I also learned about Dian Fossey, how much she loved gorillas, and how she was able to save them using extreme measures in conservation.
