Almost everyone speaks German here in Kiel, and I have been working hard on my German with them. However, many people also speak English fairly well, and so have been able to help me out when my German (which I am still very much learning) fails me!
The currency used here is the euro!

The best meal I had this week was a Kürbissuppe (pumpkin soup) which was made by one of my friends. I have been quite surprised by how much pumpkin is used and eaten in Germany! It was delicious.

I have been trying to get more comfortable understanding and hearing German by listening to German pop music these days!
