As you all know, I am studying abroad in Italy! Italy is such a big and unique place. I have traveled to many different places here. My travels have shown me that even traveling 15-20 minutes to the next town over can be very different and exciting. There are so many new things to experience. Even in the next town over, some may use the Italian language differently than in other towns, the buildings' designs start to change and so does the food. When you travel, are there any places that are very different from one another? Next time you go downtown, how different is it from where you live, go to school or go to the local ice cream store?
From my many travel adventures, I found that waste disposal (trash, recycling, etc.) is a really big issue not just in Italy, but in many parts of Europe. As you travel down many streets, there is a good chance you will see trash pilled outside in a pile. As I mentioned earlier, Italy is very different. Some parts of Italy have a better waste control system while others do not. People here have trash cans, but they are quickly filled so then the trash is left outside in garbage bags. Sometimes even the smallest things like garbage bags or a place to put our trash, we may not think about. Many people in the United States are used to having a place to put their trash but in some countries, they do not.
