I’ve encountered wonderful sights since my arrival, but none quite like the baobab trees. I discovered that these trees are rare to see in large sizes or older forms due to climate change, so I set upon a quest to find them and learn what I could.
Baobab trees are known to grow to be up to 4,000 years old and to become 98 feet tall and 36 feet wide. Fruits can be as large as softballs and are velvety to the touch.
I was in awe at this tree's height and size. I felt so small in comparison to a tree that I saw that was at least 1,000 years old.
Baobab trees can only be found in areas of in Australia and Madagascar as well as in many areas of Africa and the Arabian peninsula.
Baobab trees thrive in areas that normally receive very little rain. Their trunks can store up to 32,000 gallons of water, which is perfect for surviving in dry climates!
