Thankfully, Taiwan's buildings were designed for earthquakes and people are largely trained for safety precautions to take during them. I felt the ground shake during one earthquake, although I was lucky to be safe and not one of the people who was hurt. One of my school's palm trees did fall and land on our goldfish pond, however. I tried to check on the goldfish and remove the palm tree, but the palm tree was too heavy. It was later removed, and it seems like most if not all of the goldfish are still swimming in the pond. I am glad that my school, including our fish, are safe.
