Kinmen is very small or about 151 km so I did not travel too far. I mostly walked to coffee shops and friends' houses. I also have a very short 5-minute walk to my Fulbright school. I also hiked the mountain.
I like to use walking as my main mode of transportation. I have also flown to different areas in the mainland to visit local communities and learn more about the localities. During the Taiwanese February break, I traveled to South Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong by plane and subway. This makes a lot of miles!
I traveled by foot, which made me feel healthy.
The most interesting place I visited was a temple in Taiwu Mountain. There was a monk who told my friend, her host family, and I about the history of Buddhism and Taiwu Mountain.
