The weather this week has been mostly cold and rainy, although the weater in Kinmen, Taiwan is usually sunny and hot. This is likely due to the heavy humidity in Taiwan. When there is excessive and constant humidity, it is usually followed by rain. The rainy weather has made it hard to do many things in Taiwan, like hanging laundry. This is because there are not many dryers in Taiwan, because the Taiwanese believe that air drying is a more frugal and efficient method. The dryers that are available usually do not fully dry your clothes and are relatively expensive. On Sunday, however, it was actually very sunny and hot again, so my Fulbright friend and I went hiking with her Taiwanese host family. Fulbright pairs us with local families for support and close bonds over our year here.
