As told by the tour guide, it is traditional for them to play calm music to go with the sweet aroma of the flowers for the customers. This was the most interesting music I heard this week.
My most fun activity was when I went on the city walk with a tour guide. Because Cuenca is such a small city, all of the good places to see are all in one spot and we walked to every location during the tour. It was so cool that my tour guide knew how to get through all shortcuts. I am used to going on tours in huge buses with several people, so this was new and fun for me.
This week, I read many books and articles on how to study. My Spanish classes are coming to an end and I want to do my best to learn everything before returning to the United States. I am also getting ready for an important exam so that I can become a doctor. Each day, I try to do something small to become better and to be a good student. Reading really helps me to grow.
I played a funny game with the new dog I met in the heart of the city of Cuenca. He is a dog that looks just like the one from a famous movie, "Beethoven". Every time I raised my hand and said "arriba" to him, meaning "up" in Spanish, he would stand up straight and lift up his paw. When I said "abajo", to my surprise he did not lay back down. He placed his paw in my hand and then brushed his nose on my arm to tell me to shake his paw. This was the funniest game I have ever played with a dog because, it is clever and, not what you expect when telling a dog to sit and lay down.
