A Voyage Through Time: Venturing to Latvia's Ancient Castles

In Gaujas National Park lies a relic of Latvia! The Turaida Castle was initiated in 1214, its name meaning "Thor's Garden" in Livonian, a near-extinct language. Follow along my autumn day in Sigulda!

Mushroom foraging is a massive part of Latvian culture, and this is our three kilogram (!) haul of hedgehog mushrooms after tagging along with some local guides in the forest!
The Fulbright cohort in Latvia this year is busy doing all sorts of things, like teaching English, writing a book on knitting, studying public health policy and researching animal behavior, of course!
