Hello, I am Damaris, I am from St. Paul, Minnesota born to Guatemalan parents who immigrated to Minnesota long ago. I am a Questbridge Match Scholar attending Macalester College where I am double majoring in Political Science and International Studies, with a minor in Latin American Studies and a concentration in Legal Studies and Human Rights. I hope to pursue a career in international policy and human rights within the immigration/criminal justice sector. Upon completing my degree, I hope to attend law school and receive a PhD later in life.
I am a former Legislative Intern through the Capitol Pathways Program, stationed in the Minnesota Department of Human Rights and a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute intern placed in the U.S. House of Representatives. I am very passionate about global citizenship and being able to connect to the world around us.
