What main languages are spoken here?:

Overall, in Guatemala, there are about 25 languages that are spoken. In addition to Spanish and the 22 Mayan languages, there are two distinct languages known as Xinca and Garifuna. However, where I live, the "common" language is Spanish, and the secondary language is called Kaqchikel. Kaqchikel is one of the many Mayan languages spoken in Guatemala. I'm still in the middle of my journey mastering Spanish, but other volunteers who have mastered Spanish are learning the local Mayan languages in their community.

What type of money is used here?:

In Guatemala, they use the Quetzal as their form of money. At the current exchange rate, for every US Dollar you would get about 7 Quetzales. The cool thing about their currency is that it is named after their state bird, which is the Quetzal. It is a vibrant red and green bird.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

For a "normal" 600ml water bottle, it would cost about 3 quetzales. Can you tell me how much that would cost in US Dollars?
