A Day with Jehanne

What chores do you have at home?:

At home, I am in charge of helping dust the furniture and photos, and I sweep the floor. I don't have to mop because I haven't quite learned how to do it well yet. Sometimes I make my bed, and I like to help my mom hang the clothes to dry. When the laundry is done, I also help fold the clean clothes and put them away to keep my house nice and tidy. Before and after dinner, I make sure the table is clean to use. I wipe things down and clear the dirty plates, and although my mom or sister usually washes the dishes, I sometimes help to finish faster.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My mom is a student in an online school. Although I can't remember what she is learning, I know she studies hard. My dad is a mechanic who works at the car shop next to our house.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School starts every morning at 8:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. I arrive between 8:15 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. School ends in the afternoon at 3:30 p.m.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

I get to school every day by car. Either my dad, uncle or cousin drops me off, depending on who is available at the time. I am not allowed to go to school by myself because I am too young to drive.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

At 11:30 a.m., I go home to eat lunch--my favorite chirmole made by my mom--and then return at 12:40 p.m. I take a long time to eat my lunch because I savor every bite!
