While they are difficult to spot hiding in the trees, they are certainly heard from yards away.
While I was hanging laundry, a beautiful black bird walked right past me through my yard. It had a shimmering blue-black color and puffed all of its feathers out when it called. I was amazed that it had gotten so close to me! The birds in Belize have truly been one of my favorite nature discoveries.
As the new year begins, I look forward to starting the seasons for all of my favorite fruits, including green mango, which can start as early as March. I can even walk right into my backyard and grab some oranges off of my trees for a snack.
