¡Hola clase! Hi class!
My name’s Elena, and I’m so excited to take you on an adventure through the Canary Islands, Spain!
I grew up in Falls Church, Virginia with my parents, my twin sister, and a big Cuban family. Later, I studied Neuroscience and Spanish at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. In my free time, I love exploring the outdoors, running, and hiking. Right now, I am training for a marathon, which is a race that’s 26.2 miles long! I also enjoy doing yoga, crocheting, and spending time with my cat, Milo.
Thanks to the Fulbright program, I get to live in Spain for a whole year, helping teach English to pre-K and elementary school students in Las Palmas, the capital of the Canary Islands.
The Canary Islands are famous for their beautiful beaches and year-round warm weather. They're also known for unique wildlife and cool lava landscapes, like the giant Mount Teide volcano. From the colorful traditions, delicious foods, and exciting views, there’s so much for us to explore together!
