Interview with 8B

Introduction:

Today I interviewed my eighth grade class. They were so excited to share about their lives and are looking forward to learning more about yours!

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

My students like to eat pizza or mekitsa for breakfast. Mekitsa is similar to an American funnel cake. For lunch, students usally have doners or sandwiches. A popular dinner meal here is moussaka, a potato casserole dish filled with eggplant, beef and sauce.

What is your house like?:

My students live near each other on the north part of town. Some students have one floor while others have two. Their houses are similar to houses in America: they have bedrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen and a garden. Traditional rural homes are often made of stone, concrete and brick. There are a few homes in town that are made of wood, similar to log cabins.

What chores do you have at home?:

For my female students, their typical chores are washing the dishes, vacuuming, and helping take care of their younger siblings. All of the male students I talked to do not have any chores.

What jobs do your parents have?:

Most fathers in Samokov work in construction. Mothers are usually stay-at-home wives. There is one student whose parents work in England at a chicken farm.
