Although we have been experiencing an unusually warm January so far, this week, the weather took a turn for the worse! Temperatures have been in the mid-30s, and this weekend brought long overdue snow. While it was quick to melt away, it is still icy, or as my host mom would would say, "periculous!" (dangerous).
There is not much wildlife to be seen in Moldova, especially during the winter months. This week, I saw a lot of street dogs and cats, some chickens and a few crows.
The more rural parts of the villages still use horse-drawn carts, and they drive them on the main roads. It is always fun to see a horse cart holding up traffic in the village, and I was able to see one driving past my work this week!
