A bottle of water at a grocery store usually costs around 12 lei, but the cheapest I have seen is 8 lei, and the more expensive imported brands can cost up to 40 lei. 12 lei converts to 64 cents USD.
My host family had a big family dinner this week because my two host sisters have not been home in a while. We had a main course with salad, roasted sausages, cottage cheese and hrişcă (buckwheat) mixed with chicken and carrots. This was served with homemade juice made out of white cherries and oranges for dessert. It was a lovely meal!
I have been listening to a lot of Romanian folk music this week! You probably know one famous Moldovan boy band if you have heard the song "Dragostea Din Tei". That song is by the Moldovan group O-Zone.
This was a great week for getting to see a lot of people. I had a nice dinner with my host family, I had some planning meetings with my work counterparts, and I went to dinner with friends from my village this weekend. Going out to dinner was probably my favorite, though.
