"Reconciliation" and Aboriginal Needs in Sydney

Introduction:

I've talked a lot about the Aboriginal community in Sydney so far, but today I decided to deep dive into their community needs locally. Aboriginal people across Australia might have different community needs, so keep in mind that these are specific to the Sydney community.

What community need did I learn about?:

Through my Aboriginal Studies class and some research online, I have learned a lot about the needs of Aboriginal people in Sydney. On the official website, this need is referred to as "reconciliation." This includes things like acknowledging Aboriginal people's history and present-day lives, creating accommodating policies for their traditions and practices, and implementing a plan for their economic prosperity. The "Eora Journey Economic Development Plan" interests me the most. Eora is an Aboriginal language, but many scholars and officials use the term to refer to all Aboriginal people in the Sydney area. The plan includes things like boosting employment rates, promoting Sydney as a center for Aboriginal learning (for tourism and business purposes) and providing Aboriginal people with more connections and entrepreneurial knowledge.

Why does the community have this need?:

Essentially, the community has this need because of colonization.
