I did not travel very far this week. My journeys to different regions of Ghana are over, and I got the chance to spend time in the capital city. My farthest travel was from my house to my internship at the Anane Memorial School which is still in the city of Accra, but more downtown than where I am located at home. It is about 30 minutes from where I stay, but when there is traffic, it takes an hour and a half.
My exploration of this wonderful African country has racked up a lot of mileage. From each corner of Ghana I travelled by bus in search of new experiences. Although I don't know the exact number, I know I have ventured well over 150 miles!
I got around mostly by walking and using taxis. This was the first week I did not once use a trotro. Even though the heat felt like a blanket around my lungs, I decided to walk most places that I had to go, mostly because I did not want to spend money, but also because the weather felt like summer.
