Sintu's Story

What do you like to do in your free time?:

In my free time, I love to play rugby on the University of Cape Town's men's rugby team, the Ikey Tigers. I also enjoy diving and spearfishing.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak Xhosa, Zulu, English and just a little bit of Sothu (pronounced like sue-two). I grew up speaking Xhosa at home. Some interesting facts about the Xhosa language are that it incorporates three different tongue clicks with the letters X, C and K. Also, to say "hello" in Xhosa, we say mholo, while in Zulu we say sawubona.

Do you have pets?:

No, I do not currently have any pets, but while growing up, I  raised a parrot!

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

I've done a fair amount of travelling; I've been to Indonesia, China, New Zealand and Australia.

What do you do for work?:

In December, I graduated from the University of Cape Town. I work as a salesperson and a freelance editor for adverts (T.V. commercials) and movies.

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

Howzit? Wishing you luck from South Africa!
