Hi! I'm Emma Kopplin! I'm 20 years old, and I am in my third year at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I grew up in Redfield, South Dakota!

In high school, I was on the cheer team and the student council, while dancing at Core Kinetics Dance Studio! After graduating high school, I went to college to study history, American studies, and legal studies. In college, I participate in rugby and student government. I am also an RA which means I work in the dorms.

Many students at Macalester choose to study abroad. I chose South Africa because of the warm climate; much warmer than the South Dakota winters! Also, because South Africa is in the southern hemisphere, the summer in Cape Town is from December to March, meaning that it will be summer during much of my stay! Then, when South Dakota is warming up in May, Cape Town will be headed into winter!

While in Cape Town, I will be taking history classes just as I would at Macalester, and I will be living in my own apartment. Some of Cape Town's attractions include cage-diving with sharks, hiking Table Mountain, and lots of tasty food! I'm so excited to share this adventure with you...join me!
