Loadshedding has been occuring in South Africa for a long time, and there is no end in sight to this practice. Citizens can check an app. on their phone to be notified of when the power will be off that day and for how long. In order to stop loadshedding, expensive and environmentally-harmful upgrades to the power system would have to be made. So, until a better solution can be found, we will instead turn on our flashlights and make the best of things when it is our time to be in the dark!
