Thus, we chose youth development as a main focus for our future programs. That was because we realized the most important need of our society which is founding a mindset of sustainable development amongst the youth through volunteerism.
Sudan needs all the help given by the people who still believe they can make a difference and change the state of our country to the better. Through provision of required skills and tools for civic work and leadership, we could climb up to the potentials this country could offer to its people. Enabling young individuals to participate effectively in identifying and managing different problems encountered in the Sudanese society in more innovative and sustainable manners will lead to improving quality of life for all of us.
Yalla Nbader Association was able to continue initiating their civic leadership program, Shabab Qader which means Enabled Youth in Arabic, for three years in a row now. During this time the graduates were equipped with a set skills such as self-consciousness, problem analysis tools, basic mindset and critical thinking, social entrepreneurship principles and practical application of these skills in graduation projects.
The graduates of the program were able to initiate various programs using the set of skills they acquired during their six-months training period of Shabab Qader program. These programs ranged from start-up projects which provided jobs for many other young Sudanese individuals, community services like Braille teaching programs, participating in international youth initiative programs like YALI and UNDP.
